New MarTech Trends I'm Watching
Mentor Networks, AI Meeting Assistants, Pinterest Tools
This week I’ve got a few NEW trends on my radar that I’d like to share.
But first, a word from our sponsor of this week’s edition…
What’s the secret to staying ahead of the curve in the world of AI? Information. Luckily, you can join early adopters reading The Rundown– the free newsletter that makes you smarter on AI with just a 5-minute read per day.
I had no idea something like this existed! But what a great idea.
ADPList bills itself as a mentor network for designers, product managers, software developers and marketing professionals.
It’s seems like they started first with designers and UX professionals but have since branched out. Presumably they will add more as they go.
I think this is a brilliant idea, merging “community” with “mentoring” in a way that hasn’t been done this intentionally before. Especially with the rise of remote work, these organic mentor/mentee relationships don’t seem to happen as much (but are critical!).
I’m very curious to follow along here and see how it works.
AI Meeting Assistants
I’ve started to see more of these pop up in Zoom calls.
If you aren’t familiar, AI meeting assistants can summarize what was said during a meeting, who said it, do sentiment analysis, and determine action steps.
This is one AI application that’s fairly useful and developed. During the pandemic, “meeting fatigue” was real for me and it was difficult to “be present” AND “take notes”.
These are also super useful for sales teams for managers to better measure and mentor team members and determine how “close” a prospect might be to buying.
The space is fairly busy now with a whole slew of relatively advanced solutions.
Here’s some names I’m watching:
Gong (more sales team oriented)
YEARS ago I used Tailwind to help automate our Pinterest content distribution for various brands we operated. I honestly forgot about it for a bit, but…. it’s BACK.
With all of the fluctuations in the Google search landscape, many brands that leverage content marketing are looking for greener (and more stable) pastures for traffic growth.
Tailwind does have a few different integrations, but essentially it’s a Pinterest campaign management and social automation tool. It makes sense that it’s back in the saddle now…
I’d expect more breakouts like this for different traffic platforms and supported tools as “organic discovery” get’s further fragmented.
Other Helpful Apps for Pinterest:
PinGenerator: Creating AI generated featured images based off existing posts in your CMS or site.
PinGroupie: A tool for identifying the best Pinterest group boards for your specific niche.
I’m going to start tracking some of the resources / newsletters I pay attention to regularly here:
Trends by Hubspot Media: A great source for deep dives on business ideas from trending topics.
Big Desk Energy: More trends & insights, but more from the startup / VC / silicon valley side.
Ultimate Tools: Highlights new tools in martech, similar to what I do here, but no trends analysis, tool break downs.
That’s it for this week, I’ll be back with in a couple weeks with some more deep dives.
