3 New MarTech Tools Worth Trying

Noteworthy business growth tools on my radar this week.

Hello and welcome to the MarTech Toolkit, the industry newsletter for TheDigitalMerchant.com.

We highlight the best in MarTech, whether it’s exciting new launches (e.g. AI tools) or new apps for established platforms (e.g. Shopify).

I’m Ewen, the founder of TDM and a serial bootstrapper trying to stay ahead of the tech curve in my business (content, eCom, SaaS).

My goal is to give our readers a “jumping off point” for further exploration.

3 Interesting Tools This Week

Here’s what’s popped on my radar…

1. Noty.ai: Turn Zoom’s and Google Meet’s into Notes

What is it? An AI powered plugin that turns your conference calls and meetings into highly readable notes for future reference.

Who’s it for? Anyone who spends time on meetings where key information is shared that 1) can’t be missed or 2) might be helpful to reference later.

Why do I like it? This is one of those “well, of course” innovations that is so simple to implement and leads to so many benefits (some you might not even anticipate just yet). I even love it as a way to IMPROVE our meetings so that we focus on the key topics. I’ve also frequently these notes when I know I’m forgetting some small detail but can’t quite remember the context.

Contrarian Take? Noty.ai isn’t the only meeting transcription service out there. How long until Zoom or Google offer this as a native feature?

2. monday.com Sales CRM: CRM meets PM

What is it? monday.com is well known as a project management suite, but they’ve spun out a completely self sufficient CRM platform with the same user friendly workflows and experience.

Who’s it for? If you’ve tried a of CRMs but just can’t get into the “flow” with their UI, monday.com has one of the best interfaces I’ve tried. Also a great modular add-on if you already use monday.com for PM purposes.

Why do I like it? It’s actually fun to use. So many CRM suites either try to do WAY too much (Hubspot) or have weirdly specific UI (Pipedrive). Monday’s new CRM suite actually makes me want to do sales again.

Contrarian Take? Yes, but there’s other new options out there as well. If you don’t like monday.com for PM than you probably won’t like it for CRM.

3. Koala Writer: Structured ChatGPT Writer

What is it? Creating web copy and blog articles on the fly using ChatGPT technology.

Who’s it for? If you’ve tried creating content with native ChatGPT but just can’t quite get it publish-ready, Koala delivers more consistent content outputs that are closer to publish-ready.

Why do I like it? It can take a lot of work to get ChatGPT to deliver specific niche outputs for applications like content production. Koala makes it super easy to just “go” without having to fiddle with prompts. Also integrates with Google Sheets for “bulk publishing” solutions.

Contrarian Take? Yes, but it’s just a “wrapper” around ChatGPT. If you know a bit about prompting and templates, you can effectively get the same results.

That’s it for this week, I’ll be back in a few weeks with 3 interesting MarTech tools that pique my interest.
