3 New MarTech Tools Worth Trying
Noteworthy business growth tools on my radar this week.

Hello and welcome to the MarTech Toolkit, the industry newsletter for TheDigitalMerchant.com.
We highlight the best in MarTech, whether it’s exciting new launches (e.g. AI tools) or new apps for established platforms (e.g. Shopify).
I’m Ewen, the founder of TDM and a serial bootstrapper trying to stay ahead of the tech curve in my business (content, eCom, SaaS).
My goal is to give our readers a “jumping off point” for further exploration.

3 Interesting Tools This Week
Here’s what’s popped on my radar…
1. WriteSonic: AI Content & Copy Writer
What is it? WriteSonic is one of MANY new content assistants leveraging ChatGPT. It’s like Jasper.ai but much cheaper and with more interesting content creation modules.
Who’s it for? Amazon store owners (specific Amazon modules for product listings, descriptions), Ad Copywriters (easy FB, Google Ads, etc…), and Content Marketers (article outlines to create better AI content outputs, citation generators, title tag generator).
Why do I like it? Growth has EXPLODED recently, and G2 lists it as one of the fastest growing SaaS tools.
I’m not a believer in copypasta AI usage, BUT, I do think tools like this are an amazing Swiss Army knife for almost any digital business that uses words to communicate (ahem… everyone?).
I can’t keep track of all the AI prompts for OpenAI. They also break frequently based on code updates. Highly usable wrappers for OpenAI is the future.
It’s pretty cheap still, has new integrations every week, and actually wraps AI in many useful
Contrarian Take?
Yes, but it can be buggy due to massive user loads. Many other tools exist like it in the space. OpenAI and ChatGPT are cheaper, if less user friendly.
Full Review: Coming soon.
2. OysterHR: Global Outsourced HR Platform
What is it? Lightweight global HR PEO (professional employment organization) for hiring, paying, and staying locally compliant with overseas talent. It’s like ADP or SurePayroll without the sucky interface and WITH a global remote workforce in mind. If you work with anyone overseas, get OysterHR on your radar.
Who’s it for? Companies employing or contracting with overseas talent who need something more than “send my your PayPal invoice”.
Keeps you compliant with local laws and regulations, simplifies payroll processing, and allows you to offer locally relevant perks and benefits for everyone, regardless of where they live.
Why do I like it? I see a big gap in the market for handling subscale global teams. OysterHR is a great intermediate bridge between setting up a local office or hiring an HR team and just sending wire transfers and PayPal payments.
There really shouldn’t be geographic distinctions across global teams. OysterHR makes it easy to level the playing field and ACCESS the global labor pool in a more professional way.
Contrarian Take? Yes, but if you only have a handful of global contractors, you probably aren’t a target for local compliance officials.
3. Omnisend: eCommerce Email
What is it? Omnisend is an ESP (email service provider) purpose-built for ecommerce selling. It’s the Klaviyo challenger we’ve all been searching for!
Who’s it for? eCom store owners looking to increase revenue with automated, easy-to-implement email & SMS sequences, but don’t have the time for complicated. Also anyone who is feeling burned by Klaviyo’s recent price hikes. Works natively with Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, and Wix.
Why do I like it? They have the most pre-built ecommerce email sequences and templates of any ESP I’ve seen to date. The pricing structure is better than most competitors, and they even have a discount offer if you move from Klaviyo.
Contrarian Take? Yes, but there are some cheaper options like MailerLite and Sendinblue. And if you don’t have a huge list (1000+ subs), automation isn’t really going to help you much. Switching any ESP also takes some thought & time.
That’s it for this week, I’ll be back next week with 3 interesting MarTech tools that pique my interest.
